History of SDPlains Internet

In July 2000, West River Cooperative Telephone Company (WRCTC) was the successful bidder in the purchase of Rivernet Internet customers. Rivernet was owned and operated by Cam-Wal Electric in Selby, South Dakota. There were approximately 200 Internet customers purchased from Rivernet that resided in WRCTC's service territory. On September 1, 2000, WRCTC officially began operating SDPlains Internet. In July 2002, WRCTC purchased approximately 115 RapidNet Internet customers from Golden West Telecommunications that resided in WRCTC's service territory. Again, in June 2003, WRCTC purchased approximately 100 Internet customers that resided in WRCTC's service territory from Altaire Enterprises.

SDPlains Internet has grown from 200 to approximately 1,200 customers since its inception. Golden West Technologies provides 24 hour technical service seven days a week to all the SDPlains customers. WRCTC is very proud of the success and growth of SDPlains Internet and continues to offer this service at an affordable and very competitive price.
