CALL FORWARDING
If you are going to be away or want your calls to be direct to another
telephone, you can use this feature to forward your calls.
To apply Call Forwarding:
1. Dial * 72 from your home phone.
2. Dial the telephone number where you want your calls to go.
3. You'll hear a regular ring. When someone answers, the call forwarding
is in effect.
OR If the line is busy or nobody answers, simply hang up and
immediately repeat steps 1 and 2. When you hear two beeps, the service is in
effect. No answer is necessary. You may verify that call forwarding is in effect
by redialing *72. A rapid busy signal indicates the service is in effect. You
telephone can still be used to place outgoing calls, even though incoming calls
are being forwarded. Call forwarding remains in effect until cancelled from your
phone.
To cancel Call Forwarding:
1. Dial *73 from your home phone.
2. You will hear 2 beeps confirming the call forwarding
arrangement has been cancelled.
NOTE: If you have a phone that does not have the * symbol, you may dial 72 and 73 instead. There will be a short pause after dialing, but it still has the same effect.
While your calls are being forwarded, your home telephone will ring briefly each time your number is dialed. You cannot answer the calls, but the ring is a reminder that Call Forwarding is still in effect. If you forward your calls outside of your calling area, you will be charged for any calls forwarded from your number to the distant number. For example, if you forward your calls to a number in California, the person calling you is charged for a call only to your home number while you are charged the rate from your number to the number in California.
